the sunflower state
Kansas earned its nickname, the Sunflower State, because of the gorgeous abundance of sunflower blooms and wildflowers that grow here. If you’ve ever driven through Kansas, you know just how flat this land is. This makes it a great place to bring your horses and take a ride on the hundreds of miles of equestrian trails that Kansas has to offer. Go out in the Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve to try and catch a glimpse of the resident bison herd that can be seen roaming the backcountry.
