OHIO

Ohio roughly translates into the Iroquois Tribe’s word for “great river” and refers to the historic Ohio River. The buckeye is Ohio’s state tree and early native americans said the nut that this tree produces looks like the eye of a male deer, or a buck. Ohio is home to Cuyahoga Valley National Park which has hundreds of hiking trails and allows visitors to explore the historic Cuyahoga River.
